OCTOBER, 2000: We loaded a log spilter in Ron's truck and took it to South Carolina.
We spent 3 or 4 days around the Greenville, South Carolina area. Some of the places that we enjoyed there was Ceasar's Head
State Park, Table Rock State Park, and Paris Mountain State Park. There is a little country bar in that area called Scatterbrain's
(Bob's Place)that we visited. Right across the road is their Road Kill Grill. You might also exprience some local folks playing
some good music. On Wednesday we went to a flea market at Pickens. We took a tour of a National Battlefield, Cowpens, (Revolutionary
War).

Hike to see these falls at Ceasar's Head State Park.
Then on to Charleston, SC. The first night there we camped at KOA but the next day we found James Island County Park. They
have a club room there that has table and chairs, stove, refrigerator, and TV. They also have a phone hookup so people with
laptop computer can get on the internet. There were many people that came in with their computers to e-mail, do their banking
and etc. We enjoyed meeting people there and cooking some of our meals. They have nice walking trails so we took advanage
of those. Where we had our tent set up we met a young man from Australia and 2 guys from Italy. The only thing that we found
that was a problem was the sand fleas around the tent...but we didn't spend any time there anyway. Went went to Palm Island.
The historial part of Charleston is very interesting. We toured 4 ships there....a submarine, a destoyer, an airfight carrier,
and a coast guard ship. While we were in Charleston we visited two people from ICQ (a instant messenger program)and one of
them was from New Zealand.
The next place that we stopped at and spent the night camping was Andrew Jackson State Park.
